What can you see?
You can see details of items to be discussed at forthcoming meetings as well as those that were discussed at previous meetings.
Details of items for forthcoming meetings will be available five working days beforehand.
You can also see a record of executive decisions taken at every meeting of the Cabinet. These details are available 2 working days after each Cabinet meeting
Some of the items are confidential and public access to these is not possible. The items which are publicly available are all prefixed by the letter A,
and you can see detailed information for these items. Confidential items are prefixed by the letter B.
How can you look at the information?
Select Meetings Diary to see the dates and times of meetings over the next few months.
Select either Forthcoming Papers for meetings that are about to take place, or Previous Papers to look at meetings that have already taken place.
In both cases, you will be presented with a list of the various Council decision-making bodies. To see a list of all the meetings for a particular Council body you are interested in (for example, the Cabinet), click on the blue triangle (twistie) next to its name. Then click on the blue triangle next to the date you are interested in.
Then click on the item that you're interested in.
Usually information about the item has originally come from a Word document or occasionally an Excel spreadsheet and you will find the document in its original form included as an attachment at the end.
If you want to print the document it's best to open the attached copy.
Can you search for information?
Yes.
- Click on Search Council Papers, and in the box provided type in the words or phrase that you are looking for.
For instance if you type in school exclusion it will search for documents that contain both words ie: school and exclusion.
Typing school and exclusion will produce the same result.
The system will automatically search all the Council decision-making bodies over the default dates set.
If you want to restrict the search you can click on the button and select a particular decision-making body and you can change the dates to any others of your choice.
Once you have filled in all the boxes click on the Submit Search button. The results will be displayed as a list of clickable links to the detailed information about the item. All of the search results from each meeting will be grouped together.
If you do not have access to all of the detailed items, the search will only identify key words found in the titles of these documents and you will not be able to open and view these documents.
