Exhibitions in the Record Office Entrance
Who Do You Think You Are? shows the process of tracing your family tree, based on a real family from Metal Bridge, County Durham. The exhibits demonstrate how to gather information from the available sources and some of the pitfalls to watch out for.
Still Prepared: 100 years of Scouts celebrates the centenary of the Scouting movement. Documents on display include drawings of camping gadgets, photographs of camping trips, international expeditions, parades and the Jamboree held at Raby Castle in 1936. The display has been created from the excellent collection of scout records already cared for by the Record Office, and it has attracted a lot of interest and additional deposits of records.
