Sculpture in the Park Comments Book

What do you think of the sculptures in this year's Sculpture in the Park exhibition?

Do you think the sculptures make the ground of County Hall and the DLI Museum and Durham Art Gallery a nicer place to visit?

Would you like to see more sculptures in the grounds?

Do you have a piece that you really like, or one that you don’t like as much?

We’d love to know your thoughts…

Erm..not a fan of the plates!

I though the molehills were much better and they are provided free by the moles!

The UK's top artists in Durham, key works from the last twenty-five years of British art, links with the Baltic and also plans for a Durham Sky Bowl.

WOW!

Is this really Durham?

City of Culture or what!

Never-mind Gateshead it’s Liverpool watch out!

More, More, More Please.

Spring-a-Ling although of its time is great against the County Hall Building, the plates are wonderful but I am not so wild about the Caro piece but hey it is a Caro and in Durham, Wow again!

Bye

I like Sring a ling because
of the mixed colour and the shape.

Marc
I loved the statue of Some Sothers Sons because it reminded me about two things Ganesh the hindu the elephant headed god and the second world war. When I first saw the statue of Some Mothers Sons I thought it was a german spy watching my every move.It looks so realistic that's why it's my favourite.

Liam
I liked fossil flats because of it's
speciality in catching people's eyes and
just get a good look at what art has in
store for you,it's wood carved shaping makes it my favourite sculpture,it's rare technique is a part and credit to my life.

Ailish
I like the sculpture Some Mothers Sons because you can see it from different angles. It is like someone is watching you at all times like a spy from Germany in World War 2.It is also somthing different to see it is so unique and different.

Jade : I like the lotus flower best because it looks like all kinds of things e.g a duck's foot , a shell and I am sure everyone has their own oppin ion to I think the sculptures are a credit to the view.

Katie :I liked the lotus flower
beacause it was quite intresting and
original it was like a ducks foot.

Hayley : I like the Common Blue Butterfly because with the trees around it they look like a border and where the Butterflies would go.

Love it! It has been a good thing for the City to have some quality art on our doorstep. Lets have more! I have always loved the Wentworth's work in Teedale and to have some of his work in Durham City is great.

The kids loved it and we all had a great time. We will visit again and come to the family sculpture day.

Thank you

JA
