Waste Awareness

Countywide Campaign - Help to Reduce, Re-use and Recycle your Rubbish

Rethink Rubbish in County DurhamCounty Durham Environment Trust

Britain is often thought of as lagging behind our European neighbours when it comes to environmental issues. But Durham County Council is aiming to catch up to our continental cousins with the introduction of a range of projects to help us all be a bit more environmentally friendly.

In partnership with the district councils the County Council is holding a County-wide waste awareness programme to get us all thinking about what we do with our rubbish.

Find out more from our press release about the campaign.

For further information on the fantastic 60 day home composting promotion please visit our Countywide Composting Promotion page.

Watch out for the following bus advertising hitting the streets of County Durham and Darlington from 14th July 2003.
